The Crystal, Royal Victoria Dock, London.
Another editorial feature for Building Magazine, Siemens Crystal, located on the edge of London’s Royal Victoria Dock, is home to the world’s largest permanent exhibition dedicated to urban sustainability. Designed by architects Wilkinson Eyre the building itself forms the main feature of sustainability and is the first building in the world to boast both BREEAM (The World’s leading design and assessment method for sustainable buildings) outstanding and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) platinum certification. It’s features include rainwater harvesting, black-water treatment, solar water heating and an intelligent building management system.
