Selfridges Birmingham

No location shoot in Birmingham would be complete without a visit to the iconic Selfridges store.  Completed in 2003 it was designed by Future Systems Architects and is covered in 15,000 spun aluminium discs on a background of Yves Klein Blue. An architectural landmark and mecca for photographers it now forms the background to my updated webstite.

The Crystal, Royal Victoria Dock, London.

Another editorial feature for Building Magazine,  Siemens Crystal,  located on the edge of London’s Royal Victoria Dock, is home to the world’s largest permanent exhibition dedicated to urban sustainability.  Designed by architects Wilkinson Eyre the building itself forms the main feature of sustainability and is the first building in the world to boast both BREEAM (The World’s leading design and assessment method for sustainable buildings) outstanding and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) platinum certification. It’s features include rainwater harvesting, black-water treatment, solar water heating and an intelligent building management system.
